Walkway at Public Reserve

“In my role as Team Leader Operations for the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, we have been looking for alternatives to the usual – looking at technology and innovation. It was during this process I was made aware of FRP Products. Whilst they were at the time more aimed at the industrial sector, after meting with the team at FRP Products, it was obvious that they were thinking and designing outside of those parameters."

The client contacted us with a short, three-week lead time before Christmas. There was an area along the tidal creek that was always wet and baggy, causing problems with maintaining a pedestrian path at the Dr North Memorial Reserve in Athenree. They used our FRP mini mesh grating to “float over” a 30-metre section of the walkway. Our mini mesh is ideal in waterside environments. It is hard-wearing and will not rot or leach harmful chemicals into the water. It is also slip-resistant and safe for walking pedestrians, including prams, wheelchairs, and bikes.
